Tell me how you first met? Who what when where why?
Rob - We worked together at Iceland, we got to know each other after a bank holiday shift where we spent most of the day together.
Then we got together at a works conference party after a few drinks after plucking up the courage to tell her how I felt.
Shell - I first noticed Rob after he had his hair cut as i didn't find him attractive at first with his long shoulder length hair he used to have.
I could tell he had a soft spot for me as he would give me a cheeky smile and he would always offer to move my baskets at the end of my till.
Where was your first date?
Rob - Our first date was at Dudley Zoo, it was a lovely summers day.
Shell - I remember we were feeding the goats and rob locked me in the enclosure with the food so the goats would chasing me and would not leave me alone.
Tell me about the proposal, (did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning, how did you feel, nervous, excited, freaking out?).
Rob - I proposed on halfpenny bridge in Dublin. I placed the ring on a love lock and gave it to her without her noticing it. I had to prompt her into not throwing it in the river.
She was wearing mittens and took off her right hand glove so with no other fingers available not knowingly I placed it on the wrong hand.
I planned it about a month in advance as I knew we were going to Dublin for her dads 60th and thought it was a perfect opportunity with the family around.
Shell - I didn't see it coming, after being together about 6 years at this point, I did mention it to Rob but he didn't seem keen on the idea of marriage so I wasn't expecting it at all.
Tell me one thing that you love most about each other.
Rob - Her smile.
Shell - His big blue eyes & dimple!
Why did you choose Stanbrook Abbey as the venue for your wedding?
Rob - My Nan used to visit the Abbey when it was still used by the nuns. She would take my mom and aunts to visit two of the nuns that they were friends with.
When it was turned into a hotel and wedding venue my aunties brought us a meal in the restaurant as an appetizer of the venue.
Shell - I found the venue stunning with its beautiful arches and grounds and the great callow hall is fit for a royal wedding.
Besides getting married, what is the one thing that you are looking forward to the most on the wedding day?
Rob - Getting driven to the venue in a mustang and seeing Shell in her dress.
Shell - Wearing my dress & having family and friends together in one place and the party!
How have you find the wedding planning? Do you have any tips for other brides?
Shell - It is quite stressful, especially as I decided to make and do a lot myself, such as the save the dates, invites, marquee letters, table plan and presents for the bridesmaids.
I soon realised that there is more to organise than you think at the time of planning a wedding.
Rob - I found it really easy as I left it down to shell, all I had to sort was my suit and the car, if she was happy so was I, but I did enjoy making some of the stuff with her.
Shell - Just to think about what is important to the both of you.
